Jealous of moths!

Some of these photos are kind of blurry and some of you might not enjoy the content, but I thought the pictures were funny and wanted to share.

So I love all sorts of critters and I've been overwintering a couple cecropia moth cocoons! I've been keeping them in Tihota's travel cage. Yesterday I got home from an event, let Tihota out, and went to the bathroom. Usually when I do this, he heads straight to his playgym, but this time when I returned he was on top of his travel cage, staring intently at its contents. Some moths were emerging! I took them out to take pictures and Tihota was NOT happy about this. He kept trying to bite them, trying to bite me, chattering at them.... every time I put him elsewhere, he'd just run right back over and try to divert my attention back to where he thinks it belongs!

I still have a few cocoons left so I hope I can get photos of him next to one with fully-developed wings. They're the biggest moths in North America and their wingspans should be broader than he is!

He's a fairly small parrotlet so they're almost as big as he is! These moths are males... if they were females they'd be even bigger!

I am much bigger than the moths and still agree with Tihota! (Bugs aren't my thing, sorry!)

Hahah yeah, I know moths are not everyone's cup of tea and Tihota agrees with everyone who feels that way. Another one emerged this evening and he was willing to share my hand with it for a little while and then this blurry shot happened...

Poor little guy is so grumpy tonight. First his head is covered with pinfeathers and now he has to share Mom's attention with these flappy interlopers!? No good!

Those photos are amazing! There was a woman in Thailand that used to post on here and she kept bugs.

Cute, beautiful, amazing, wonderful photos! Thanks for sharing them!

I would not be able to hold a lovely moth like that with Sky out...she would definitely go into full attack mode.

I was wondering if he was looking hungrily at that moth. After all, birds do love bugs....

LOL! That, however, isn't the face of a hungry parrotlet but the face of a FURIOUS parrotlet whose wrath is terrible to behold! I have seen that face on Tumi, but never been able to take a picture of it because it is followed by quite the attack.
