I'm so sorry to hear that Violet. I'd be sad and frustrated too seeing that! Some of these bird people just seem to have an extreme emotional fragility, and try as we might there is no preventing these emotional meltdowns, hence the plucking. Hugs!

That's what I was thinking too, she seems like she might be overly-sensitive to change (Violet had moved her from one room to another to clean). When she first plucked, she had been to the vet....so maybe she can't emotionally handle any upset to her routine.

It's so weird. John and I were talking about how last time we felt it was the hormones, because she started plucking Tobie. Then he told me he thought this time was his fault, because she was mad at him when he woke her up. I laughed and said I thought it was MY fault for vaccuming. Today we both had a good chuckle as she completely climbed under the paper towel on the bottom her cage and just ran around under it. Now I'm thinking hormones again.

I think you should not blame yourselves for this, you are not picking at her feathers, she is..... only she knows why she is doing it....

I would still go with hormones as she just layed an egg.... my Hueys hormones have calmed down significantly... I have not seen him humping his toy for a few weeks now and there also are feathers on his body..... I do not know if it is the avicalm or just the time for them to settle down.

I am not really tough but I have accepted that I can not change what I can not change.. kind of like the serenity prayer... I just do everything in my power to try and help him out... the rest is up to him.

Today he has feathers, tomorrow he might not but he is still my Huey. The good news is they grow back.

Rosey is the one that laid the eggs. I'm glad Lilly dosent have eggs. I think Rosey is done with the eggs, she's acting more normal now. These girls....

Haha, you have so many! Do you walk in the room and just randomly start calling names? My mother used to call us each others names...

Oh my gosh LOL you mean like "melod- I mean Lil- Rosey!"
This is even funnier. Instead of mixing up the names I mix up the calls. You know how you have a call for the bird, I look at one and I tweet, then whistle, then chirp all the while thinking "oops that's not your call" untill I get it right. They look at me like "what are you saying?"

LOL...I love it! Instead of training your birds to talk your language, they train you to talk their language. Happens all of the time...my roommate's cockatoo has done an excellent job of training him to speak cockatoo...and it's actually pretty funny to listen to his clicking, hooting, chattering, whistling, and such...he's quite good at it

It's your fault for breathing.

Totaly. Or I make my own bird like noises and then they imitate me. Jasper dosent even sound like a Bourke, he makes all the noises we say to him. When we got Rosey he just starting talking to her because that's how thinks you say things. Now she's imitating him
