Puffy Birdy

I just got a new baby. She's 8 weeks old. My mom who has breed parrotlets brought up to me that she's puffed up. She said that means there's possibly something wrong. I'm just wondering if possibly she could be a little more fluffy because she's just a baby?

Thanks

An eight-week-old baby isn't going to be much fluffier than an adult would be, but they could be fluffy for all sorts of reasons... comfort, illness, temperature... since you just got her it's probably wise to take her for a checkup just to make sure everything's okay.

Levi gets really puffy when he's really comfy.. might not mean anything but if hasn't had his first vet check up you should take him and mention it to the vet.

Timmy puffs himself up when he's chilly or cuddling with me. However, since you just got your baby it would be a good idea to take her to the vet for a check.

Ditto on the new bird vet check. It could be perfectly harmless, or it could be illness. Tumi got sick when he was young, and only swift vet checking saved him.

As everyone has shared, a vet check is good for a new bird regardless. Hopefully, though, it's nothing more that a reaction to the big changes that have happened for your little one.

Ditto on the vet check, I always take my birds after I get them.
Fluffy is not always bad, normaly it's a relaxed bird. But if it's constant and accompanied by abnormal droppings, difficulty perching, not eating, any other kind of issue it's deffinatetly an urgent matter to get to a vet ASAP.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Members expressed concern over your bird's puffiness----hope all is well after a vet check. Your mom knows enough about birds to be concerned as well. Kindly keep us informed and let us know how it goes. Best to you.
