help please. when to take the nestbox away

my pair is breeding at the moment, i think the eggs are infertile.
she has been sittng on them for 30 days now.
i want her to have some rest, she looks very tired. can i take the nestbox away this weekend, put them both in their own cage with some toys, and give them their rest? or will she go crazy when i do this?

this is their first nest zo i don't want them to have a bad experience the first time.
i have read that if she thinks she is finished she will come out of the nestbox on her own. she doesn't seem to want to at the moment.
when she comes out to drink some he keeps chasing her around untill she is back in the nest againg.
i'm afraid that, even when she would be done, he wouldn't let her come from the nest.

would it harm them if i change things around this weekend? put the each in their own cage without a nestbox?
should i wait until she seems to be done?

Sounds like the cock is chasing the hen back to the nest. I would be inclined to remove the cock and see if the hen will give it up with him gone.

I was thinking about that option, but he feeds her very well. Will she start eating when he stops feeding her? I am at work all day. I can seperate them when i come home and see how it goes. If she come out the nest to eat i will keep them seperated.if she stays in the nest i think i should place him back in with her in the morning?

I seperated them about 2 hours ago.
she seems ok with it, she already came out of the nestbox 4 times, to eat and wonder around.
he seems a bit stressed, he still thinks he has to guard the nest.
they are in a devided cage so they are still close to each other. i hope he will calm down before bedtime.

I suspect without his encouragement she will lose interest. Sounds like you just have an anxious male that takes his daddy job a little too seriously.
