Charlie's Colors

Charlie (yellow) is definitely mostly yellow right now but she has hints of other colors too. I can't wait to see what she's going to look like after her first molt!

Does anyone have any idea what these colors are?

BTW: I know that Charlie's dad is an American White split to Turquoise. I don't know about the mom but she must be either green or split to green because the breeder always includes at least one of those in breeding pairs.

They are beautiful. The only knowledge I have on the color would be that she is an American yellow. I know that some people make a distinction to some birds/mutations that they call marbled when there is a certain kind of pattern or variation on the wings but honestly I'm not sure if that is just a visual variation or an actual mutation. I have heard debates about it, but for sure she is an American yellow.

Tumi is an American yellow, but when you look closely at his feathers you see green and yellow and blue and even violet and turquoise (he's a boy, so he has a blue back and wing edges). All of his different colors are evenly mixed, though, without any splotching. I think he got more green after his first molt. But he is visually a yellow bird.

Thank you, Dana and Mrs.JP3! (Sorry I don't know your name)
I thought the same thing but the breeder specifically said she wasn't an American Yellow. She said because she's split to different colors, some of those colors might show too?

After much digging, I learned about European Yellow aka Green Pastel. Whether or not this is her, it does sound a lot like her.

Two sources:
http://www.xtreemparrotlets.com/pastel-parrotlets/
http://www.luckyfeathers.com/parrotl...ions.htm#Green Pastel Parrotlet

Or if you don't feel like reading, here are some photos

This is a good picture but is obnoxiously large so I'll just leave the link http://www.xtreemparrotlets.com/wp-c...low-pastel.jpg

I guess aside from that I'll just have to wait and see! I am clearly not very good at waiting haha curiosity gets the best of me

OK now back to working on my thesis
