worried mom

Hello I'm new to this site and looking for some feedback.
I have American yellow females, Summer and rain. I came home tonight to rain plucked almost bald on her head I am shocked as she was not like that yesterday when they were out. what do I do ???????

Hello, welcome. Sorry this happened! Do your girls live together? Feathers plucked on the head sounds like a sure indicator the other bird did it. I'm that case seperation asap. Again I'm not sure if they live together but Parrotets in general can not share a cage, they are extremely aggressive unless they are a male/female bonded pair.

Hi, and welcome! I agree with Mrs.JP3, the girls need to be separated right away. Parrotlets can be very aggressive and often need to be kept in separate cages. Once aggression starts is can swiftly become very severe leading to serious injury, and sometimes even fatality...so definitely separate them as soon as you can. Good luck!
