Just actually read this for the first time and I'm going to go on a DIY toy making rampage when I get home!

I just read this for the first time and I can't wait to start making some of these things. We already have jello boxes at home and I love the ideas of stuffing peppers and hollowed out squash and colorful chain links.

Your so lucky to have such a fun bird! My parrolet does not "do" toys, and I always have some in her cage. She loves to fly over to the pantry in my kitchen just for fun. I think she feel its her property, not mine.

tried a new, home made toy - a small plastic(Aleve) bottle that she loves to rattle! Sometimes its ignored, but she loves yo go ne yo one" with her challenger!

I had to modify one of our late budgie's toys for our Tiki.
It is a hanging toy with a series of wooden discs and beads with a bell on the bottom.
All of our birds have loved it, including Tiki. The problem was, the toy was attached to what was basically a medium sized key ring, with the key ring attached to the hanging clasp above it. I looked over and was horrified to see Tiki poke his head completely through the key ring! He did this twice while I watched, and I had visions of him getting caught and hanging himself or hurting himself trying to pull free if he got stuck.
I removed the key ring from the toy, and the hanging clasp is now attached to the eyelet that is on the top of the toy. He still loves to chew the discs, and bang the bell, but I feel a whole lot better about his safety.

Red face Toy idea

A friend game us a plastic continer of plain wooden toothpicks. Out 3 month old Grover loves to pull them out and toss them around. Great fun!

I took a toilet paper tube and put a millet in it and hung it with cloth string so Conway has to forge to get it.
He does a good job.
I'm wondering what he'll do when he sees the millet way inside he hasn't gotten to yet.
