New celestial parrotlet

I've had my parrotlet for a month now he's just started taking strawberries from my hand however is still very nervous which I understand it will take time, however I don't know where I go from there? Also I want to register him to a vets but I'm not at the stage of touching him what do I do? Thank you ?

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Is he your first parrot ever? Read up on the tips about bonding with your parrotlet. Was he handfed and handtamed from his breeder? Does he know how to "step up"? You need to start asking him to step onto your hand. When you approach him, be sure never to come from above like a hawk would do. Instead, come from the front and slightly below to be non-threatening. Taking strawberries from your hand is an AMAZING step. Most parrotlets are terrified of red, so if he is eating strawberries, he seems to trust you. Open the cage door and ask him to step onto your hand. If the room he is in has too many dangers, then take him into a smaller, safer room to bond. Also, is he clipped? Does he know how to fly well/properly? If not, you will need to teach him by providing safe opportunities for his crash landings. I suggest a bed as the crash landing pad, because even clipped it is safest if he knows how to be precise in his flightpath.
As far as an avian vet visit, I can't recommend it enough. Do you have a small carrier? Or a small cage? Something to transport him in? If so, lure or place him in it and head to the vet!
