Helpful tips on Bringing a Parrotlet home ASAP

Hello,
I'm new to the group...but I like to do my homework before I bring my Parrotlet home. I have had budgies and canaries in the past but this is my first parrotlet and he is not a baby...
I'm picking up Cheeko on Monday, Jan. 5th.
He is a 4 year old that has had the same owner, but now she can no longer keep him.
Does anyone have any pointers on how to make Cheeko's transition to his new home a good one...thanks for your help
This might not be the correct forum to post this...sorry but if you can help me thanks

Hi Welcome! Have the owner introduce the two of you and spend some time in their company if you can so he knows that you are "OK". When you bring him, home give him some treats and get him used to you as soon as possible as he is already social. Watch his body language so that you don't do something he is uncomfortable with. Also, ask him to step up. If he does not want to, do not force him. Leave him be and then try a little later. If you sit by his cage, he may become curious and then want to come out. Reward him immediately. Good luck
