I too had a parrotlet that would eat her feces. Drove me nuts. She had free range of the house and if I didn't catch a dropping she would find it and chomp it down. She has just passed away and the necropsy showed she had advanced liver disease. Now I'm wondering if that was an early indicator. It might be a good idea to get a blood test for liver problems. Please let us know if you find out anything.

My budgie did this for a very short time. After researching, I figured out it could be caused because they are lacking certain minerals and vitamins. I changed her food from small hook bill and pellets to parakeet seed and pellets. I also started supplements once a week. Hasn't happened since.
