Thanks! Just the one fertilized egg. But I would be sooooo happy if it hatches and they parent it. Wish there was a way to tell when she laid it. So I had a better idea of possible hatch date.
I have so much trouble figuring out how to post pictures.

Thank you! I get to properly meet my prospective breeder and her current clutch of 8 precious little p'let babies in two weeks and it can't come soon enough!

Thank you! Java is a wonderful little parrot. He is really feisty and if it could be said that birds have a sense of humor, then he certainly does. He never bites, but he's not exactly a huge fan of being picked up unless he initiates it. He talks back a lot.

I used to clip his wings, but as it turns out we get a long a lot better when he can fly. Which has not been the case with the parrotlets. Java flies over and lands next to me or on me all the time to hang out. I think single lovebirds are the way to go if you want their attention.

So you no longer have your lovebird pair? I can see in your profile picture you have two little parrotlets. Their very cute. Just out of curiosity, how did you find out you were a bird person? I've met so many people that assume birds are like they are in the wild. Just there, with no distinct personality and they don't realize how intelligent and lovable they are.

Thanks. That cage is pretty much the only thing in the flight cage that Artie doesn't claim as his. He didn't like it all so I took it out of the cage originally. When Noah came along a couple months later I offered it to him and he liked it, and got no argument from Artie. He doesn't spend a lot of time in there - mostly I just put little toys in there and he will go in to kick them around a little and then throw them out of the cave.

Mine haven't attempted nesting yet. I'm thinking that its because they just don't have a place to do it. I'm not sure if I'd want to breed them anyway since I don't know the first thing about it.

I don't understand it much at all, I just know where to go for help. :) I'm only going to breed on a very small hobby level, but I want to make sure my babies are the best and healthiest they can be.

Pixie and Pixel are not a great pair either, for 2 reasons.

    1) she is pied and both are split to yellow.:
Because of this they will have yellow and white babies and it's very hard to tell if a yellow or white bird is pied. :O)

    2) he is green double split to turquoise and yellow.:
This means any green babies they have will have unknown splits because they "could" be split to blue, turquoise, yellow, or blue and yellow. (If I understand it correctly) I don't think a bird can be split to turquoise and blue because they are both blue. ??

Odds are you won't run into any obvious issues, with Skye or their babies if they have any.

I forgot to address your question on if I breed or not. Short answer, no not yet. I show 5+ because over the years I've owned 5, never at once. However I wanted to breed years ago but didn't because I wanted to make sure I do it right. So now I'm getting babies to make 2 pair and will be breeding in the future. At least that's the plan, lol.

They are related because they are both blue birds, how closely related is the question. Most babies from same color pairs don't live long healthy lives but most aren't as bad off as the babies in that other thread.

It's up to you if you allow them to have babies or not, but it's the babies and their new owners that suffer. They tend to be unhealthy and die young.

Sorry to hear about Skye 1. Baby has been egg bound 2x. 2 surgeries. Now she is on deprovera. So I can relate. I am sure C&Skye will make beautiful little fids. Thanks for sharing.

You have a gorgeous flock. I noticed that you have 5 p'lets. Do you breed? Are they all tame? Or just C&Skye. Sorry being nosy. No I'm not sorry. Just love to know about other people's flocks.
